The role emphasizes accurate documentation in EHR, adherence to HIPAA, and collaboration with the care team to educate patients about procedures and eye health.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patient records per HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certifications: CPO, CPOA, CPOT.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations before exams (dilation, topical meds, diagnostic tests).
• Assist Optometrist with specialty diagnostics and post‑exam tasks.
• Manage doctor appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Record and maintain patient data in EHR; ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Support front office duties and patient inquiries related to care.
