Job summary

AEG Vision is hiring an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists by conducting pre-exam evaluations and assisting with specialty testing. You will help ensure a smooth patient flow, maintain accurate health records, and assist with clerical duties related to medical documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity.
• Records and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatments; coordinate referrals and follow-ups when needed.
• Assist with diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Schedule and manage appointment reminders and recalls to optimize the daily schedule.
