Job summary

LensCrafters in New York is seeking an Optometric Technician to deliver the LensCrafters Experience, ensure patients receive high-quality eye care, and help link the doctor’s work with the store’s retail operations.

Key duties include patient greeting, taking medical history, assisting with eye exams, handling records per HIPAA, inputting data in CIAO, maintaining contact lens inventory, and supporting both exams and customer service in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year strong customer service skills (internal/external).

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly with a smile and maintain a professional image.
• Answer telephone calls in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Assist the optometrist during eye examinations, including collecting medical history.
• Review prescriptions and patient information carefully; consult with Optician/Management when needed.
• Maintain patient records in HIPAA-compliant, organized fashion.
• Input patient and service data into the CIAO system accurately.
• Monitor inventory of supplies and contact lenses; ensure clean, organized exam lanes.
• Support retail as capacity and patient demand allows.
