Job summary

Harborview Eye Institute in Seattle seeks a Full-Time Days Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. This onsite, 40-hour week role supports surgical coordination, diagnostic scheduling and patient access processes.

You will liaise with patients, physicians, and health-care teams to coordinate admissions, pre-admission tests, and post-operative follow ups, ensuring accurate registration and smooth care transitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a medically related or public relations field.
• Two years’ experience in a tertiary patient care setting with interactions across medical services.
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison for patients and physicians regarding surgical coordination, ordering diagnostic studies, and admission process.
• Coordinate inpatient and outpatient care by scheduling surgery, arranging diagnostic procedures and coordination requests.
• Coordinate and schedule pre-admission tests, pre-surgery appointments/tests and complex imaging.
• Maintain surgery schedules and coordinate with Anesthesia, Admitting, and the Operating Room.
• Ensure complete and accurate registration and communicate status to health care teams.
