Job summary

Eyehealth-Northwest- seeks a detail-oriented patient scheduling coordinator to manage surgery and procedure appointments, verify insurance data, and liaise with surgeons, centers, and providers to ensure seamless care. You will handle patient information with care and support cost discussions and logistics.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and proficiency with Windows-based programs to maintain high-quality patient service and efficient office operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required or one year of relevant experience.
• Ability to use Windows-based programs and basic computer applications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; customer-focused.
• Detail-oriented with good organizational abilities.
• Knowledge of insurance basics and patient eligibility helpful.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, change, cancel, and confirm patient appointments for surgery and/or procedures.
• Coordinate with Surgery Center/Hospital staff, PCPs, and insurance providers.
• Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information; update as needed.
• Schedule diagnostic tests and obtain referrals/authorizations as required.
• Transfer patient information to Surgery Center/Hospital as needed.
• Inform patients about appointments, costs, and potential out-of-pocket expenses.
• Collect payments for non-covered procedures when applicable.
• Ensure services meet patient needs and that work is efficient and accurate.
• Prepare for surgery dates with necessary referrals and documents.
• Foster teamwork, maintain HIPAA compliance, and communicate clearly with staff and patients.
