Responsibilities

• Schedule, change, cancel, and confirm patient appointments for surgery and/or procedures.
• Gather and verify patient demographic and insurance information.
• Coordinate with Surgery Center/Hospital staff, physicians, and insurers for referrals and authorizations.
• Prepare and transfer patient information to relevant centers.
• Serve as patient resource for appointments, costs, and potential out-of-pocket expenses.
• Collect doctor portion payments for non-covered procedures.
• Scan surgery fee tickets to bookkeeping and documents.
• Ensure services meet patient needs and are performed efficiently.
• Prepare for provider surgery date with referrals and proper documents.
• Demonstrate teamwork and professional conduct with coworkers.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers, doctors, and patients; maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain neat and orderly work area.
• Adhere to safety standards and HIPAA regulations.
