Job summary

SouthState Bank in Virginia seeks a consumer real estate underwriter to uphold bank policies with professionalism and accuracy.

Responsibilities include underwriting consumer real estate loans within required time frames, discussing pre-qualification with lenders, and making decisions on loans within authority; analyze tax returns and cash flows; review valuation methods including tax assessments and appraisals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years consumer underwriting in Banking.
• Good interpersonal skills, good computer skills, ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite consumer real estate loans within prescribed time frames.
• Available for pre-qualification discussion with lender, prior to loan submission.
• Responsible for reviewing and making approval decisions with respect to loans within his/her authority
• Analyze tax returns and prepare cash flow analysis
• Responsible for performing review of valuation methods to include tax assessments, appraisals and Automated Valuation Models.
• Presents a neat and professional personal appearance, in accordance with bank policy.
