Job summary

SouthState Bank is seeking an experienced consumer real estate underwriter to ensure loans adhere to policy guidelines and maintain portfolio quality. You will review financial documents, analyze tax returns, and participate in pre-qualification discussions with lenders.

The role requires attention to detail, adherence to training requirements, and professional presentation in line with bank standards. No travel and opportunities to contribute to a growing consumer loan portfolio.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of consumer underwriting in banking.
• Bachelor's in Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Strong English reading/writing and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite consumer real estate loans within prescribed time frames.
• Available for pre-qualification discussion with lender, prior to loan submission.
• Responsible for reviewing and making approval decisions with respect to loans within his/her authority.
• Analyze tax returns and prepare cash flow analysis.
• Review valuation methods including tax assessments, appraisals and AVMs.
