Job summary

Amrize is seeking a skilled Paving Operator for our Asphalt division in Maryland. You will safely operate paving equipment, monitor mat thickness and compaction, and coordinate with the crew to meet project specifications on highway projects.

Holds a high school diploma and at least 3 years’ experience operating asphalt paving equipment, reads plans, travels daily, and maintains safety and quality on site. Perform daily inspections and minor troubleshooting to keep production flowing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience operating asphalt paving equipment on highway or large-scale projects.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans, grades, and layout markings accurately.
• Proven ability to operate pavers, rollers, and associated equipment safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate pavers, rollers, and related paving machinery to achieve smooth, durable asphalt surfaces.
• Read and interpret project plans, grades, and layout markings accurately.
• Monitor asphalt placement, mat thickness, and compaction to ensure quality.
• Coordinate with rollers, screed operators, and lutemen to optimize production.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic troubleshooting.
