Job summary

Amrize is seeking an Equipment Operator for its Asphalt division in Crofton, MD. You will safely operate skid steers, rollers, tack trucks, and paving/milling equipment, perform inspections, and support paving operations while ensuring proper material placement and alignment.

Requires a high school diploma, 2+ years of relevant equipment experience, and daily travel. You will work with foremen and crews, maintain safety standards, and adapt to varying site conditions on a DD-site schedule.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience operating asphalt paving or heavy construction equipment.
• Travel: Daily travel required, must have reliable transportation.
• Experience operating asphalt paving or heavy construction equipment and ability to operate multiple types of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple types of asphalt and heavy construction equipment.
• Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections for safety and readiness.
• Support paving operations by ensuring proper placement, depth, grade, and alignment of asphalt materials.
• Operate rollers and compaction equipment to achieve density and a smooth pavement surface.
• Operate milling machines to remove and prepare surfaces for new paving.
• Coordinate with foremen, laborers, and drivers to maintain safe, efficient paving.
• Report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly to supervision.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety policies.
