Job summary

Amrize is hiring a Paving Operator for its Asphalt division in the United States. The role requires operating asphalt paving equipment to place, level and finish pavement to project specs, while monitoring mat thickness, asphalt flow and compaction and coordinating with the paving crew on highway projects.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of hands-on paving experience, with daily travel and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience operating asphalt paving equipment on highway/large-scale projects.
• Daily travel required with reliable transportation.
• Proven ability to operate pavers, rollers and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of asphalt paving techniques, mat thickness, compaction and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt paving equipment to place, level and finish pavement per project specs.
• Monitor mat thickness, asphalt flow, and compaction to ensure quality results.
• Read and interpret project plans, grades and layout markings accurately.
• Coordinate with rollers, screed operators and lutemen to optimize production.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance; troubleshoot minor issues.
• Adhere to highway safety regulations, traffic control plans and job site protocols.
