Job summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop is seeking an Assistant Workshop Manager to support the store manager in daily operations and guest experiences. You will help direct staff, drive sales, and ensure compliance with brand standards to create a welcoming workshop environment.

In this role you will lead shifts, assist in hiring decisions, optimize inventory, and develop a high-performing team focused on exceptional Guest service and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 2 years of store management experience in customer-centric retail.
• High school diploma required and basic store technology knowledge.
• Experience with POS, scheduling, HRIS and time/attendance systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Workshop Manager with daily assignments and staff direction.
• Support hiring, promotion decisions and staff development.
• Lead shifts, enforce policies, and manage disciplinary actions as needed.
• Drive sales, coach Bear Builders, and create a strong Guest experience.
• Ensure merchandising displays meet brand standards and maintain store layout.
• Oversee inventory processes including receiving, stocking, and counts.
• Develop a high-performing team delivering exceptional Guest experiences.
