Job summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop seeks a Chief Workshop Manager to lead the workshop, drive an exceptional Guest experience, and manage a high‑performing team to meet financial goals in a dynamic retail setting.

You will coach AWMs, SLs, and Bear Builders, oversee scheduling, payroll, and promotions, and enforce brand standards while ensuring safety and compliance across the store. This leadership role requires weekend/holiday shifts and a passion for delivering joy to Guests.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of management experience in a customer-centric business.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience using store technology solutions (POS, scheduling, HRIS, time and attendance).

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and team performance by coaching AWMs, SLs, and Bear Builders, ensuring a Guest experience that reflects the Experience First culture.
• Create weekly schedules and determine associates’ daily assignments with the Assistant Workshop Manager; direct their work and priorities.
• Make hiring and promotion decisions with input from the AWM and HR as needed.
• Lead and inspire the team, enforce policies and safety, and escalate issues to DM/HR as required.
• Oversee inventory management, merchandising displays, and store cleanliness to maintain brand standards.
• Build a high-performing team in partnership with the AWM to deliver an exceptional Guest experience.
