Job summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop is seeking an Assistant Workshop Manager to support the store manager in operations, guest service, staff management, and execution of sales and marketing strategies.

You will lead shifts, assist in hiring, manage inventory, ensure brand standards, and coach Bear Builders to deliver an Experience First culture. This role requires 2 years of store management in a customer-focused retail environment and a high school diploma; an Associate degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years of store management experience in a customer-centric retail environment.
• High school diploma is required.
• Basic understanding of POS, scheduling, HRIS and time/attendance systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Workshop Manager with daily assignments and directing work.
• Assist in hiring decisions and staff promotions.
• Lead shifts, enforce policies, and support disciplinary actions when needed.
• Drive sales as Floor Leader and deliver an Experience First guest experience.
• Ensure displays and layouts follow brand standards and maintain an inviting store.
• Oversee inventory management, receiving, stocking and counts.
• Develop a high-performing team delivering exceptional guest experiences.
