Job summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop is seeking an Assistant Workshop Manager to support the store manager in operations, guest service, staff management, and execution of sales strategies, ensuring a positive experience for Guests and associates.

Responsibilities include directing daily assignments, assisting in hiring decisions, leading shifts, driving sales, maintaining brand standards, inventory control, and developing a high‑performing team in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of store management in a customer‑centric retail environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of store tech like POS, HRIS, and time/attendance systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Workshop Manager with daily assignments, break schedules, and staff direction.
• Support hiring decisions and feedback for staff advancement.
• Lead and coach teams during shifts, ensure policy adherence and safety.
• Drive sales as Floor Leader, coach Bear Builders, and optimize guest experience.
• Maintain merchandising standards and inventory controls; foster brand consistency.
