Job summary

Amex GBT in the United States seeks a Senior Event Manager to lead the most complex programs for a dedicated Experience Studio team serving a single enterprise client. This role oversees multiday executive events for 500+ attendees, managing budgets over $1 million and coordinating cross-functional teams from planning through onsite execution.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years planning corporate meetings, events, and incentives.
• Budgets above $1 million managed with forecasts and reconciliations.
• Experience directing onsite teams of ten or more.
• Experience as planning lead beside producer or senior client event owner.
• Strong hotel and supplier contract skills: attrition, cancellation, F&B minimums.
• Strong command of enterprise project tools, including Cvent.
• Ability to run multiple programs at different stages simultaneously.
• Composure presenting to senior audiences and handling late executive requests.
• Coaching ability to mentor less experienced planners.
• CMP; incentive travel experience; hotel or DMC background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver complex multiday programs for 500+ attendees and budgets above $1 million.
• Lead planning beside the producer, signaling cost/time impacts early.
• Build and manage program budgets from initial estimate to final reconciliation.
• Create detailed planning calendars and monitor against client tools.
• Manage hotels, venues, transportation, F&B, and destination partners.
• Coordinate attendee experience in Cvent, including registration and housing.
• Run onsite logistics with teams of ten+ during weeks of activity.
• Mentor Event Managers, reviewing plans and coaching for peak periods.
• Keep planning files and notes complete for handover and debriefs.
• Raise risks with recommendations to the producer and Studio Operations Manager.
