Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a Senior Event Manager to plan and deliver large-scale programs for a dedicated Experience Studio team supporting a single enterprise client. Responsibilities include budget ownership, supplier management, and onsite leadership for multiday events with 500+ attendees and budgets above $1 million.

You will serve as planning lead beside the producer, translating briefs into actionable plans and ensuring timely delivery and accurate forecasting.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years planning corporate meetings, events, and incentives
• Budget above $1 million with forecasts and clean reconciliations
• Multiday executive programs and audiences of 500+
• Experience as planning lead beside a producer, creative lead, or senior client event owner
• Strong hotel and supplier contract skills: attrition, cancellation, pricing, and enforcing signed terms
• Strong command of enterprise project tools and collaboration platforms like Cvent and related systems

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver complex programs from kickoff to onsite execution and close for 500+ attendees
• Lead planning alongside the producer, translating briefs into actionable plans
• Build and manage program budgets from initial estimates to reconciliation
• Create the detailed planning calendar and keep teams to dates
• Manage hotels, venues, transportation, F&B, and destination partners
• Coordinate registration and attendee communications in the client system
• Run onsite logistics with teams, scheduling, and VIP movements
• Mentor Event Managers and review their plans and budgets
• Maintain comprehensive planning files and post-program debrief notes
• Flag scope/budget/resourcing risks early with recommendations
