Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) is seeking a Senior Event Manager to plan and execute complex programs for a dedicated Experience Studio team for a major enterprise client. You will lead budgeting, vendor coordination, and onsite execution for multiday events with 500+ attendees.

You will mentor event managers, manage vendor contracts, and ensure risk is raised early with clear recommendations.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years planning corporate meetings, events, and incentives.
• Budget management for programs above $1 million.
• Experience leading onsite teams of ten or more.
• Ability to work beside a producer and delineate decisions.
• Strong hotel and supplier contract skills.
• Proficiency with Cvent and client-owned environments.
• CMP or incentive travel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver complex programs from kickoff through onsite, including multiday executive programs and budgets above $1 million.
• Lead planning beside the producer and communicate cost/time implications early.
• Build and manage program budgets from initial estimates through final reconciliation.
• Create the detailed planning calendar and enforce dates across tools.
• Manage hotels, venues, transportation, F&B, and destination partners.
• Coordinate registration and attendee communications in Cvent.
• Run onsite logistics with teams of 10+ during travel and week-long programs.
• Mentor Event Managers and review plans, coaching through peaks.
• Maintain complete planning files and post-program debrief notes.
• Raise scope, budget, and resourcing risks with recommendations.
