Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a Senior Event Manager to design and execute high-impact, multi-day executive programs for a marquee client in the Experience Studio. You will own budgets, timelines, and vendor coordination from kickoff through onsite completion.

You will mentor Event Managers, manage a cross-functional team, and ensure flawless delivery while maintaining data integrity in the client environment. Excellent CMP and travel-domain experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years planning corporate meetings, events, and incentives with full program responsibility.
• Experience managing programs with budgets above $1 million and accurate forecasts.
• Portfolio includes multiday executive programs with audiences 500+ and onsite teams of 10+.
• Experience as planning lead beside producer or senior client event owner.
• Strong contract skills for hotels, venues, and F&B.
• Proficient with enterprise project tools and client-owned environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver complex programs from kickoff to onsite execution.
• Lead planning with the producer, anticipate cost/time impacts, and adjust plans.
• Manage budgets from initial estimate to final reconciliation with forecasts and change control.
• Create detailed planning calendars and ensure milestones are met in client tools.
• Oversee supplier management, including hotels, venues, transport, F&B, and destination partners.
• Coordinate attendee registration, housing, communications, and data quality in Cvent.
• Run onsite logistics with teams, including staffing, room sets, and VIP movements.
• Mentor junior Event Managers and review plans and budgets for peaks.
• Maintain thorough planning files and decision notes for turnover and post-program debriefs.
• Raise scope, budget, and resourcing risks with recommendations.
