Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a Senior Event Manager to plan and deliver multiday executive programs for a dedicated Experience Studio team. You will own budgets above $1 million, supervise suppliers, and guide Event Managers while coordinating with producers on strategy and content.

The role requires leadership of onsite teams, strong vendor negotiation, and mastery of Cvent within a client-owned environment to ensure flawless execution.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years planning corporate meetings, events, and incentives, with full responsibility for programs from kickoff through reconciliation.
• Management of program budgets above $1 million, with accurate forecasts and reconciliations.
• Portfolio includes multiday executive programs and audiences of 500+ with onsite teams.
• Experience as planning lead beside a producer, with clear decision ownership.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver complex programs from kickoff to onsite execution for 500+ attendees and $1M+ budgets.
• Lead planning alongside the producer, outlining cost/time implications early.
• Build and manage program budgets from initial estimates to final reconciliation.
• Create detailed planning calendars and ensure teams and suppliers meet dates.
• Manage hotels, venues, transport, F&B, and destination partners within procurement rules.
• Coordinate registration, housing, and attendee communications in Cvent.
• Run onsite logistics with teams during weeks-long programs.
• Mentor and develop junior Event Managers across peaks of the calendar.
• Maintain comprehensive planning files and post-program recommendations.
• Raise risks early with recommendations to the Studio Operations Manager.
