Job summary

NYU Langone Health in New York, NY is seeking a Surgical Technologist-K5 for the OR Evening Shift (37.5 hours). Under the supervision of a licensed professional nurse, the scrub tech will assist in all surgical procedures and support the physician in procedural areas.

Responsibilities include instrument prep, maintaining sterility, assisting as a secondary circulator, and contributing to quality and safety programs.

Qualifications

• To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS Required (American Heart Association).
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program; Certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Takes initiative to support surgical procedures and assist the physician as needed.
• Scrub on all procedures in the Operating Room under the direction of a licensed professional nurse.
• Assist as secondary circulator; prepare instruments; ensure aseptic technique.
• Report abnormalities and participate in quality, safety and efficiency initiatives.
