Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking a Surgical Technologist for Evening shifts in the Operating Room. The role involves scrubbing on all surgical procedures under the supervision of a licensed nurse and assisting physicians in procedural areas.

You will anticipate supplies, manage instrument care, and support the RN Circulator. The position requires NBSTSA certification and BLS, with a high school diploma or equivalent and a strong commitment to patient safety.

Qualifications

• To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS Required (American Heart Association).
• Must be a graduate of an NBSTSA-accredited Surgical Technologist program and have certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room under the direction of a licensed professional nurse.
• Assist the physician in procedural areas.
• Anticipate and gather needed supplies and equipment prior to procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of instrument use, care and maintenance.
• Provide on-call coverage where applicable.
