Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a Service Advisor to sell and schedule service work for commercial trucks and equipment in the dealership service department.

The role requires one year of service experience or equivalent, a valid CDL, and adherence to manufacturer specifications. You will coordinate diagnostics, communicate cost and time estimates, and maintain accurate repair orders throughout the process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year service experience or equivalent.
• Manufacturer training is required.
• Valid CDL license is required.
• Driving record acceptable to company carrier.

Responsibilities

• Gather customer complaint details and expectations.
• Perform vehicle walk around inspection and verify vehicle information.
• Connect to J-Pro for on-the-spot diagnostics and print report.
• Advise customers on vehicle care per manufacturer specifications.
• Write up vehicle problems clearly and obtain customer signature.
• Set promised time based on shop workflow and communicate with foreman.
• Determine customer payment method and obtain credit approval if needed.
• Create repair orders in the business system and secure with customer signatures.
• Monitor repair progress and obtain authorization for additional repairs when needed.
