Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to support registration, billing, and scheduling across hospital locations. You will obtain insurance verification, collect demographics, and ensure accurate data entry to keep patient flow smooth.

The role requires at least 1 year in healthcare or related clerical work, a high school diploma, and strong customer service skills. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of healthcare or related clerical, accounting, or customer service experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPAR or CHAA certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains insurance verification to ensure payment of hospital accounts and quality patient care.
• Registers patients, collects demographics and financial information.
• Enters data for registration, billing, patient tracking, charge capture and reconciliation.
• Verifies insurance coverage and authorizations if applicable.
• Explains financial requirements and collects deposits or deductibles as required.
• Acts as liaison between patient and department staff, updates schedulers and maintains patient information tools.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and medical records; supports front office operations and scheduling.
