Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Patient Access Registration professional to communicate with patients, families, and insurance companies for accurate demographic and financial data and to ensure proper verification for quality patient care and hospital billing. The role involves scheduling, data entry for registration and billing, and coordinating with multiple departments across locations.

A high school diploma and 1 year of healthcare or related clerical experience are expected;

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in healthcare or related clerical, accounting, or customer service experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education may be considered in lieu of experience.
• CPAR or CHAA certification preferred.
• Experience using patient registration systems, insurance verification systems, and/or Medicaid portals.

Responsabilités

• Communicates with patients, families, physicians, clinical staff, and insurance companies to obtain information and insurance verification to ensure quality patient care and payment of hospital accounts.
• Interviews patients and families to obtain demographic and financial information and ensures all questionnaires and forms are completed as required by regulations.
• Enters data into system for registration, billing, patient tracking, charge capture, and reconciliation to minimize patient wait times.
• Verifies insurance coverage and/or validates authorizations as applicable.
• Explains regulatory financial requirements to patients and collects deposits or deductible amounts as required and reschedules appointments if necessary.
• Serves as liaison between patient and department staff, informing patients of procedures and delays and assisting with questions.
• Updates schedulers and patient information tools to ensure wait time communication.
• Performs daily medical record maintenance while maintaining patient confidentiality.
