Capital Choice Pathology Lab in Silver Spring, MD is hiring an experienced Laboratory Technician. The role supports routine histology tasks, tissue processing, and quality control within a 40-hour work week on an evening shift (3:00PM-11:30PM).

The candidate will work in a mission-driven environment as part of Adventist HealthCare's pathology lab network, with commitment to safety, accuracy, and professional development.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in science or related field required.
• BS/BA degree preferred or equivalent.
• Education level may include additional experience per CLIA and CAP requirements.
• 1 year laboratory setting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Complete slide distribution and verify cases in LIS.
• Complete routine staining and maintain H&E stainer.
• Load/unload digital pathology imagers and assign cases.
• Perform special stains and hand staining as needed.
• Demonstrate quality control for daily work.
• Assist histotechnologists with tissue processing and block handling.
• Prepare non-GYN specimens and cytology duties as assigned.
• Maintain safety and infection control practices.
• Demonstrate proficiency with LIS and computer software.
• Promote laboratory compliance and professional work ethic.
