Job summary

Labcorp in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Professional to join the Ascension Saint Agnes team on a 3:00pm–11:30pm shift. You will determine specimen acceptability, perform routine and complex testing, and monitor instruments to ensure accurate results.

Minimum qualifications include an associate’s degree in a chemical or biological science; ASCP or AMT certification is preferred. Candidates should be proficient with laboratory information systems and communicate well.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Pass color vision screening.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing.
• Perform routine and complex procedures according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Demonstrate ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results for patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
