Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Closing Manager to lead end-of-day operations across perishable and support areas, ensuring clean, stocked, and ready-for-morning open. This role serves as MOD when needed, delivering strong team leadership and a safe service environment.

Responsibilities include audit readiness, staff onboarding, and maintaining Gold Standards to drive member satisfaction and club performance.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in retail, supermarket, or warehouse perishable operations preferred.
• SERV Safe certification required.
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Open shift availability required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Recovery, Utility, and Perishable departments during closing.
• Lead by presence during closing hours to observe execution and support team performance.
• Maintain GOLD Standards for member experience until the last Member exits.
• Coach onboarding and certifications to ensure food safety and training.
• Collaborate with Closing Manager, Club Managers, and Department Leads to improve closing routines.
• Perform other duties as assigned by club leadership.
