Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking an Assistant Closing Manager to lead club operations during closing and overnight prep, overseeing Recovery, Utility, and Perishable departments (Produce, Meat, Bakery, Deli, Dairy/Freezer) to ensure all areas are clean, stocked, and ready for morning open.

In this role you will walk the floor to observe execution, coach and develop team members, uphold GOLD standards and food safety, and drive daily performance.

Qualifications

• Basic computer proficiency required (MS Word, Excel, Email).
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• SERV Safe certification required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Recovery, Utility, and Perishable departments during closing.
• Walk the floor during closing to observe execution and support team performance.
• Maintain GOLD Standards to ensure a positive member experience until closing time.
• Coach onboarding and certifications (ServSafe) during team development.
• Collaborate with Closing Manager and other leaders to improve closing routines.
• Ensure safety, sanitation, and audit readiness through daily checklists.
