Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking an Assistant Closing Manager to provide leadership and direction within the club, overseeing Recovery, Utility, and Perishable departments and overnight prep to ensure the club opens clean and stocked.

The role requires ServSafe certification, 18+ years, and experience in retail or perishables, with a focus on safety, inventory, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in retail, supermarket, or warehouse perishable operations preferred.
• Experience in managing inventory turnover and waste reduction strategies.
• SERV Safe certification required.
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Email) required.
• Open shift availability required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Recovery, Utility, and Perishable departments (Produce, Meat, Bakery, Deli, Dairy/Freezer) and overnight prep to ensure readiness for morning open.
• Lead by presence and coach team performance during closing hours.
• Guarantee GOLD Standards in service and cleanliness and ensure proper closing procedures.
• Collaborate with club leadership and cross-functional partners to improve closing routines and member experience.
