Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking an Assistant Closing Manager to lead club operations during shifts, overseeing recovery, utility, and Perishable departments to ensure clean, stocked conditions for morning opening.

The role emphasizes leadership, policy compliance, and delivering exceptional member service. A valid ServSafe Certification is required; Florida applicants may need a qualifier certification for propane; forklift certification may be required annually.

Qualifications

• A valid ServSafe Food Safety Certification is required and must be maintained in good standing.
• In Florida, the role must obtain the qualifier certification through the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for retail propane oversight.
• Must complete yearly certification for a forklift license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the club when MOD is assigned, including recovery, utility, and Perishable departments (Produce, Meat, Bakery, Deli, Dairy/Freezer).
• Provide leadership and direction within the club, maintain policies and procedures, deliver a positive member experience.
• Lead onboarding, certification, and training to ensure food safety and operational excellence.
• Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed, taking full responsibility for club operations and member engagement.
