Job summary

Minnewaska Community Health Services is seeking a Care Attendant to provide personal care and health-related services to residents, promoting their physical and emotional wellbeing in daily activities.

ACNA/NAR or HHA certificate is preferred, but not required. The Care Attendant must be able to read, write and speak English, and complete a background study. This full-time evening shift emphasizes compassion and teamwork with RN supervision.

Qualifications

• ACNA/NAR or HHA certificate is preferred, but not required.
• The Care Attendant must possess sensitivity and aptitude for working with the elderly.
• Ability to read, write and speak English, and complete background study form.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal cares (shampooing, showering, lotions, nail and foot care).
• Assist with dressing, grooming, and oral care.
• Assist residents with hearing aids and glasses.
• Promote independence and self-help skills.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by RN.
• Observe residents and report changes to RN.
• Medication administration/assistance as delegated by RN.
• Take and record vital signs as instructed.
• Assist with meal preparation as needed.
• Lead/assist resident activities as scheduled.
