Job summary

Minnewaska Community Health Services is seeking a Care Attendant to provide personal care and health-related services to residents to maintain their physical and emotional wellbeing. The role includes assisting with daily activities, monitoring conditions, and supporting the care team under RN direction.

ACNA/NAR or HHA certificates are preferred though not required. English literacy is essential, and a state background check is required.

Qualifications

• ACNA/NAR or HHA certificate is preferred, but not required.
• The Care Attendant must possess sensitivity and aptitude for working with the elderly.
• Ability to read, write and speak English, and pass a state required background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal cares including shampooing, showers, lotions, nails and foot care as instructed.
• Assist with dressing, grooming and oral care as assigned.
• Assist in use of hearing aids and glasses for residents.
• Promote independence and help residents reach their highest level of performance.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by the RN.
• Observe residents and report changes to RN.
