Job summary

ILC Dover, a global leader in engineered EVA spacesuit systems, seeks a Project Engineer to coordinate hardware programs from design to production, ensuring NASA requirements and safety standards are met. You will work with engineering, manufacturing, quality and supply chain teams to keep milestones on schedule and on budget at our Frederica, Delaware facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and U.S. citizen or permanent resident status.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering or product development environments preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and ICDs.
• Interest in project management; PMP or CAPM a plus.
• Strong organizational, time management and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate EVA spacesuit hardware projects from design release through production and delivery.
• Liaise between engineering, manufacturing, quality and supply chain to align priorities and schedules.
• Support spacesuit assembly, integration, test and verification activities at Frederica site.
• Ensure completion of hardware fabrication and production within schedule and budget.
• Lead hardware failure investigations; drive RCA and CAPA across teams.
• Communicate risks, issues and impacts to cost and schedule to program managers and stakeholders.
• Interface with NASA customers to report progress and milestones through formal reviews and meetings.
• Assist with transition of hardware from development into production and prepare build plans and instructions.
