Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Project Engineer to drive EVA spacesuit hardware programs from concept through production at the Frederica, DE facility. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage milestones, and ensure readiness for build, test, and delivery of flight-critical hardware for NASA programs.

The role requires collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, with emphasis on meeting schedule, budget, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required to access government program databases.
• Ability to travel up to 25% for program reviews, testing and site activities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate EVA spacesuit hardware projects from design release through production, integration, and delivery.
• Liaise between engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to align on priorities and schedules.
• Support assembly, integration, testing, and verification activities at the Frederica site.
• Ensure fabrication and production stay on schedule and within budget.
• Gather and manage data to support requirements, build readiness, and production execution.
• Lead hardware failure investigations; drive RCA and CAPA across engineering and operations.
• Communicate risks and impacts to cost, schedule, or technical performance to program managers.
• Interface with NASA customers to report status and milestones via reviews and reports.
• Assist with transition of hardware from development to production; coordinate build plans and docs.
• Support proposal, contract execution, and program lifecycle planning for EVA spacesuit programs.
