Job summary

ILC Dover is seeking a Project Engineer based in Frederica, Delaware, to drive EVA spacesuit hardware programs. You will coordinate design release, production, and delivery while aligning with NASA requirements and safety standards.

You will work with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to keep milestones on schedule and within budget, supporting transition from development to production in a mission-critical environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to access shared government program databases (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or product development environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and ICDs.
• Interest in project management (PMP or CAPM a plus).
• Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of project management methodologies and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with hardware development lifecycle including design, build, test, and qualification phases.
• Experience supporting hardware failure investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate EVA spacesuit hardware projects from design release through production, integration, and delivery.
• Serve as a liaison between engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.
• Support spacesuit assembly and integration activities at the Frederica site, ensuring build readiness for test and delivery.
• Ensure hardware fabrication and production efforts are on schedule and within budget.
• Gather and manage technical, manufacturing, and program data to support requirements and production execution.
• Lead hardware failure investigations; drive RCA and corrective actions across teams.
• Communicate risks, issues, and impacts to cost/schedule/tech performance with program managers.
• Interface with NASA customers to report status and milestones through reviews and meetings.
• Support integration, test, and verification activities for EVA hardware per NASA requirements and standards.
• Assist with transition of hardware from development into production, including build plans and configuration control.
• Support project planning across proposal, contract execution, and lifecycle phases for EVA programs.
