Job summary

HDR is seeking an EV Charging Infrastructure Design Lead/Manager in New York to deliver transportation electrification projects including public, workplace, and fleet charging. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, develop site designs, and ensure regulatory compliance.

This role emphasizes client relationship management, technical leadership, mentorship, and pursuit of new projects. Occasional national travel is required, and a strong background in electrical design and CAD/BIM tools is

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
Experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting, power, systems).
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Proficiency with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, SKM, AGI, Easy Power).
Demonstrated alignment with employee-owned culture and strong communication.

Responsibilities

Lead EV charging infrastructure design projects including fleet, workplace, and public charging.
Prepare final design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
Coordinate with electrical engineers, sub-consultants, and contractors.
Mentor junior staff and develop design production capacity.
Prepare proposals and assist with client engagement and project delivery.
Travel nationally as needed.
