Job summary

HDR is seeking an EV Charging Infrastructure Design Lead/Manager to oversee multidisciplinary projects across public, workplace, and fleet charging solutions. You will drive site design, prepare PS&E packages, and coordinate with electrical engineers and sub-consultants to ensure compliant, high-quality deliverables.

Responsibilities include client engagement, scope development, and mentoring staff while pursuing new project opportunities and supporting business development efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an electrical emphasis.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Professional licensure and strong design experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead EV charging infrastructure design projects from scope through delivery.
• Prepare final design plans, specifications, and cost estimates (PS&E) for EV infrastructure.
• Perform siting, field visits, and layout optimization for charging hardware and electrical systems.
• Apply design standards, attend client meetings, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Mentor junior staff and pursue growth opportunities in project management and business development.
• Support construction phase with RFIs, submittals, and change orders.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis

Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or similar field
