Job summary

HDR is seeking an EV Charging Infrastructure Design Lead/Manager in New York to drive the design and delivery of public, workplace and fleet charging projects. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, develop site designs, and prepare technical reports.

Mentor junior staff, engage with clients, and coordinate with electrical engineers and sub-consultants. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, strong communication, and project-management skills are essential for success in this evolving field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• PE license or eligibility is required/strongly preferred.
• Experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems) and sustainability practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of transportation electrification infrastructure design and implementation projects.
• Manage projects and tasks of varying complexity including multi-disciplinary scope, schedule, and budget.
• Prepare detailed EVSE site designs and technical reports.
• Undertake site assessments and due diligence analyses, incorporating designs from other team members.
• Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D to produce high-quality drawings and models.
• Coordinate with electrical engineers, sub-consultants, and contractors.
• Ensure all work complies with regulations, standards, and guidelines.
• Mentor junior staff and develop design production capacity.
• Engage with clients and internal project managers for project delivery
• Prepare proposals, scope development, and estimating hours/fees; coordinate with discipline leads.
