Job summary

HDR is seeking an EV charging infrastructure design lead/manager to drive design delivery for public, workplace, and fleet charging projects. You will manage multidisciplinary teams, prepare site designs and reports, conduct site assessments, and coordinate with sub-consultants and clients.

The role emphasizes staff mentoring, business development, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The position requires a Master’s in Electrical Engineering (or related field), 8+ years in civil/energy

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
8+ years in civil engineering, energy, utilities or electrical engineering.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in NY.
A/E industry project management or task lead experience; EV experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of industry practices and regulations.

Responsibilities

Manage projects and tasks of varying complexity including multi-disciplinary scope, schedule, and budget.
Prepare detailed EVSE site designs and technical reports.
Undertake site assessments and due diligence analyses.
Coordinate with electrical engineers and sub-consultants.
Use AutoCAD/Civil 3D to produce high-quality drawings and models.
Lead client engagement and internal project management activities.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines.
Mentor junior staff and grow design production capacity.
Prepare proposals, scope development, and estimating hours/fees.
Travel intermittently, nationally as necessary.
