Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an EV charging infrastructure design lead/manager in New York. You will lead multi-disciplinary projects spanning public, workplace, and fleet charging, coordinating with electrical engineers, sub-consultants, and clients to deliver high-quality designs.

The role requires a PE license (NY preferred), 8+ years in civil/energy electrical design, and strong CAD skills (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit). HDR offers an employee-owned culture and hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an electrical emphasis.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in NY or ability to obtain licensure.
• Experience in electrical design of buildings and civil utilities.
• Strong CAD and design software skills (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, SKM, AGI, EasyPower).
• Ability to lead projects, manage scope, schedule, and budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of EV charging infrastructure design and implementation projects.
• Prepare EVSE site designs and technical reports.
• Coordinate with electrical engineers, sub-consultants, and contractors.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines.
• Mentor junior staff and develop design production capacity.
• Prepare proposals and perform scope development and estimates.
• Travel nationally as needed.
