Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Kapolei, HI, is seeking an Estimator in Training to learn how to diagnose and prepare estimates for repair according to insurance guidelines. You will work with an estimator to deliver accurate, profitable estimates and communicate value to customers.

This role emphasizes hands-on practice, building rapport with customers at drop-off, and coordinating with production and insurance staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Must complete 16 I-CAR units within the first 12 months.
• Preferred: 4–6 years related work experience; photo-imaging software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets customer at repair drop off and builds rapport.
• Maps damage with customer and identifies opportunities.
• Prepares and uploads photos and notes to CCC One.
• Notifies production and queues the vehicle; verifies estimate during teardown.
• Finalizes estimate using Repair Planning Template.
• Works with repair team to finalize parts lists and windshield notations.
• Sets promise date and reviews estimate with customer.
• Updates customer regularly per management standards.
• Participates in production meetings.
• Contacts customers when vehicles are ready and reschedules as needed.
• Assists insurance adjusters with damage reports and re-inspections.
