Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Indiana is seeking an Estimator in Training to learn the estimating process under supervision. You will diagnose vehicle damage, prepare estimates per insurance guidelines, and communicate value to customers to support a high close rate.

This entry-level role requires a high school diploma, strong communication skills, and willingness to complete I-CAR units within 12 months. On-site position with career growth within a leading collision repair company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Must complete 16 I-CAR units within the first 12 months of employment.
• Preferred: 4-6 years related work experience. Photo-imaging software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW plan.
• Greets customer at repair drop off and builds rapport.
• Maps damage with customer and identifies WOW opportunities.
• Takes initial photographs and uploads to CCC One with notes.
• Notifies production of arrival and queues vehicle; verifies estimate during teardown.
• Finalizes estimate using Repair Planning Template.
• Works with repair team on windshield notations and parts list.
• Sets promise date using Promise Date Calculator and reviews with customer.
• Updates customer regularly per management standards.
• Participates in production meetings.
• Calls customers about next-day completion and schedules.
• Follows up with technicians after tear down and adjusts estimates.
• Assists insurance adjusters and claim re-inspectors.
