Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is hiring an Estimator in Training to learn the estimator role by working with a seasoned estimator. You will diagnose repairs, prepare detailed estimates, and communicate value to customers and insurance partners.

The position emphasizes accurate mapping of damage, photos, and timely updates to customers. The role requires strong communication, basic computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft products, and a willingness to complete I-CAR units within the first year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Prior customer service experience is preferred.
• Must currently possess or complete 16 I-CAR units within 12 months of hire.
• Preferred: 4–6 years related work experience.
• Photo-imaging software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers at repair drop off and build rapport.
• Map vehicle damage with customer and identify WOW opportunities.
• Assist with repair mapping, take initial photos, and upload notes.
• Verify estimates during teardown and finalize with Repair Planning Template.
• Collaborate with the repair team to ensure accurate notations and parts lists.
• Call customers to review estimates and confirm promises, updating as needed.
• Support insurance adjusters and other inspectors as required.
