Job summary

WSP is seeking an ESSP Electrical Engineer – Experienced Professional for the Freeport, ME office with consideration for Ann Arbor, MI; Syracuse, NY; Orlando, FL; and Fort Mill, SC. You will contribute to the ESSP team on electrical studies, SCADA, and system protection across conventional and renewable facilities.

Responsibilities include protective relaying, planning studies, design grounding, and network configurations.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree in electronics or power systems is required.
• 3–5 years of industry design or device configuration experience.
• Engineer in Training certification or active PE pursuit desired.
• Solid understanding of three-phase power and power system fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Protective Relaying analysis and relay settings calculations.
• Power system planning studies including load flow and contingencies.
• Design studies for grounding, insulation coordination, and power quality.
• Networking and communications for RTUs, HMIs, and SCADA equipment.
• Logic and control system development and testing at project sites.
• Prepare technical reports with analysis findings and conclusions.
• Support risk assessment, project planning, and field coordination.
• Travel to project sites as required.
