Job summary

WSP seeks an ESSP Electrical Engineer in Portland, OR to contribute to protection studies, power system planning, and design studies within the ESSP team. The role supports substations, generation facilities, transmission and distribution projects.

Candidates should have a BSEE or ABET-accredited degree and 3–5 years in design or device configuration, with strong analytical and communication skills. Travel may be required; relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related ABET-accredited degree.
• 3–5 years of industry design experience.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and design/build processes.
• Analytical judgement and problem-solving ability.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical studies and protection system tasks as part of ESSP.
• Assist with design/configuration across disciplines as needed.
• Author technical reports and documentation with sketches, calculations and spreadsheets.
• Support field/site work planning, permitting, and risk assessment.
• Collaborate with ESSP team and project managers on deliverables.
