Job summary

WSP is seeking an ESSP Electrical Engineer – Experience Professional for our Freeport, ME office, with consideration for candidates in Ann Arbor, MI; Syracuse, NY; Orlando, FL and Fort Mill, SC. You will work on ESSP projects, supporting protective relaying, planning studies, and design coordination across field and office environments.

The role emphasizes technical reporting, SCADA integration, and adherence to safety policies, with travel as needed for project sites.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree required.
• Engineering-in-Training certification preferred and relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and communication skills essential for teams and clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform protective relaying analysis and relay settings calculations.
• Conduct power system planning studies and stability analysis.
• Execute design studies including grounding and insulation coordination.
• Configure RTUs, SCADA systems, and protective relays on projects.
• Write technical reports with findings and conclusions.
• Assist with risk assessment, work planning, and field coordination.
