Job summary

YMCA of Greater Seattle seeks a part‑time onsite BASE instructor to guide elementary-aged participants through sports, arts, STEM, and other hands‑on activities after school.

You will support the program supervisor, teach teamwork and social-emotional learning, and participate in Play Everyday programs during school hours; scheduling varies by site and includes 6:45am start and 6:00pm finish.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience with children; camps, child care, tutoring, or nannying.
• CPR/First Aid certification is required.
• We value ability to work with diverse populations and foster inclusive environments.
• Completion of minimum STARS training is required.
• We require a background check and immunization per DCYF requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities within the YMCA curriculum.
• Supervise a group of children to ensure health and safety.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about daily activities and progress.
• Support program supervisor and assist with logistics at sites.
• Assist in maintaining site appearance and cleanliness and participate in staff trainings.
