Job summary

YMCA of Greater Seattle is seeking a part-time BASE Instructor to guide elementary students through sports, arts, STEM and hands-on learning in a safe, supportive environment.

You’ll help teach teamwork and social-emotional skills while promoting skill-building, creative exploration, physical activity and fun. Working at multiple elementary sites with varying hours, this onsite role offers immediate PTO accrual and staff benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years’ experience with children (camps, childcare, tutoring, or nannying).
• Completion of STARS training and CPR/First Aid training required.
• Mumps, Measles and Rubella vaccinations per policy; background check required.

Responsibilities

• Implements developmentally appropriate activities within YMCA curriculum.
• Supervises children to ensure health and safety.
• Communicates with parents/guardians professionally.
• Adheres to YMCA policies including safety and abuse prevention.
• Maintains site appearance and cleanliness.
• Attends required staff trainings and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
