Job summary

YMCA of Greater Seattle seeks a part-time onsite lead for BASE and Play Everyday programs, guiding elementary students through sports, arts, STEM and hands-on learning. You’ll support the program supervisor, teach teamwork and social-emotional skills, and help kids grow with fun, activity, and skill-building.

Responsibilities include supervising groups, coordinating with staff, communicating with families, and ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• 2+ years’ experience with children in camps, child care, tutoring or nannying.
• Completion of minimum STARS training.
• Certification in CPR/First Aid.
• Food worker card and background checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements culturally relevant activities within the Y curriculum.
• Supervises a group of children to ensure health and safety and positive experiences.
• May guide staff/volunteers overseeing activities.
• Communicates day‑to‑day with parents/guardians.
• Follows YMCA policies, including safety and emergency procedures.
• Assists in maintaining site appearance and cleanliness.
• Checks in or out for parents; supports school programs as needed.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings; performs other duties.
